Our Response to COVID-19 crisis
The Rivers LPC Team has always acknowledged and worked to support women not able to seek information or assistance from formal authorities, either through choice or circumstance.
We quickly identified that the main two issues that were going to be of concern for the women and families we support was financial assistant and food insecurity.
We therefore formed a temporary sub-group for support around COVID-19 known as Rivers CHRYSALIS. We also realised that Rivers was too small to take up this challenging role, we then formed a partnership with a faith based group, that had more resources than Rivers and was willing to work with a women’s charity.
Temporary Base
We were able to set up a temporary office base at the The Ark (New Life Community Hub). From here Rivers co-ordinated volunteers to help with delivery of food packages and essential supplies to those in need.
